Phil turns 33.
I could write a book about Phil. After all, he is the one I picked to be by my side for the rest of time.
Tonight, we headed out to a men’s clothing store to buy Phil some nice work clothes. It isn’t that he wanted to be flashy, I think he just wanted to represent himself better in hopes of calling money toward him. The ‘creative look’ was no longer representing his role in his business. He has 2 other people to be the kooky creative ones now.
He must have tried on 15 things. Every time he came out of the dressing room, I got a little teary. He looked like such a man, such a grown up man. Where did my Phil go? Where was my silly college art student that I met and fell in love with? When did he turn into a handsome business man?
So Phil, even though I had a dream last night that Brian Williams was my new boyfriend, I was happy to wake up next to you this morning, snoring and all.
Happy Birthday to my best friend, my biggest fan, my nun-mun. I love you.

New Computer
Phil bought me a new computer today! I am unsure if it was the fact that my HP sounded like it was grinding rocks from start up to shut down or that he got the ‘buy now’ bug and had to purchase something (my computers are about one third the price of a new one for him).
As I have talked about in the past, the HP we bought almost 2 years ago has been nothing but trouble. I swore I wouldn’t buy HP again and Phil kept that promise. Since it had been 5 years since we went with a Toshiba, we are giving it a go. So far so good.
All this week I will be attempting to transfer things from one computer to the other. If posts are small or just photos, you will know why.

Quick Update on All of Us
I haven’t had the time to sit and pound out some profound thoughts, as no doubt everyone expects from me (NOT.) So you will have to settle for a mini-update.
Vivienne LOVES school. She has made a few friends and is very proud of herself for learning their names this week: Allison and Julia. There is also a boy names Sam and another girls named Hannah. She is reluctant to wake up at 615am each morning, but who in this house isn’t? It only takes a few minutes for her to perk up and find her energy reserves. Of course, by the end of the day she has morphed into Super-Jerk and is a bear to deal with. Poor Henry just wants to play with her and she wants to avoid the very sight of him. Vivienne also lost one more tooth this week. She was elated.
This week, Henry started going to his playgroup at Vivienne’s old preschool. He had loads of fun but was so over-stimulated the first day, he was unable to take a nap. He drew with chalk, painted on chalkboard with water, played with trucks and a tea set, read books and played with a sand table. He was outside and inside and enjoyed a snack with Josiah, Averie and Gianna, his playgroup buds. I bought him his first Thomas train, (which I will avoid from this point forward lest I get further into debt - they are $20 a piece!!) which is named Henry. He has kept that little thing in his grip every day since we bought it. It has gone to nap and bed with him each day and has only been out of his site when he is in playgroup.
Phil took on the giant task of painting his new office space. I thought he was nuts but it clearly made him happy. Today he gets some new office furniture delivered. Hopefully these changes will make the work faster and easier. He is swamped.
I thoroughly enjoyed my first two days of solitude. The first one, I ran all the errands I had been avoiding dragging my kids to. The next I worked at the school downloading photos and organizing the albums online. It was just nice to not have to worry about the next diaper change or if my kids were licking outlets or eating bugs.

Phil and Vivienne’s Excellent Beach Adventure
If you know me at all, you know that I am not a fan of the outdoors. I do not enjoy heat or glaring sun or humidity. I am not fan of the ocean or the sand it sits upon. Now that I sound like the most boring person on the planet, you will understand why my husband decided to take Vivienne on a weekend beach vacation this year. (Add in the Henry factor and I would be downright miserable. There is a very good chance that he will be as annoyed with heat and sun as I am.)
Last Thursday, the Dynamic Duo set out on a 4 hours drive to Nags Head, NC to stay with some friends. They stayed 2 full days and 2 full nights. Vivienne had a blast. She swam in the ocean, in the pool, played mini-golf, went on a fishing pier, played skee-ball (in the middle of the night!! - 9 P.M.), ate lots of ice cream and hot dogs, played in the sand, watched fireworks and trick kites, and didn’t miss me one bit.
In fact, when I asked her if she was ready to come home, she said “Not really.” When I told her Henry missed her and wanted someone to play with, she answered “Maybe you should call someone over for a playdate?” And when I told her I missed her and wanted to hug her, she reluctantly said o.k. and agreed to come home with Phil. Somehow, my mommy-addicted little girl that wouldn’t leave my side more than a month ago was nowhere to be found when sand and water are present.
