Happy July 4th!
How Old Am I?
Wow. After my first 5 days in a row at the new job, I am beat. I feel like a 60 year old. My feet, back, arms, and hips are killing me. I suppose that is what mopping and intense cleaning each night will get you. I think that is why my own house isn’t pristine.
I have to give one big THANKS! to everyone who helped celebrate Vivienne’s birthday. We had cake and presents at my Mom’s and again at Phil’s parents’. It was super. She got such great ltoys and clothes. She is loving the blocks, the push toys, the sushi book (Thanks Kym!). Ronni held up her side of the bargain and came through with Vivienne’s first Barbie. This is the threat she made when we found out she was a girl...so long ago.
On her birthday we went to get some photos taken and then went out for sushi. She had her first tuna, salmon, edamame, eel, shumai, tatsutage, and miso. She loved them all. That’s my kid! She thinks it funny to eat food off chopsticks. I suppose I would too if all I did was eat with my hands. Our waitress was one of the girls that served me many times when I was pregnant and having my sushi cravings. Since Vivienne is probably 1/2 sushi to begin with, we decided to make it a first for more than her age.
Have I mentioned that Phil is proving to be a better Mom than me? It’s almost embarassing. He is taking over duties at night when I work. Let me tell you, they seem to have nothing but fun when they are together. It is so obvious that Vivienne loves him, she has just started saying “da-dee” when he comes home. Today she ran to the front door when I said he was home. I can see Phil’s heart explode about 2 times a day now. My lord, I have got it good.
Please check out our new family photos taken on Vivienne’s first birthday. They are our first official family thingy.
Happy Birthday to my Grandfather on July 4th!!!!
Take Care!
Meredith
