When To Pay Attention

Phil typically doesn’t pick out my clothes. In truth, he doesn’t pay much attention unless the neckline plunges down below a certain point. So when he saw this ad in Target this week, I paid attention.

Not only did he stop and tell me about it, but he held it up for me to see.

He said, “This dress is pretty.” I agreed. Then I came closer to look at it.

I just had to ask “Are you sure it is the dress and not just chick in the photo?”

“Well, it wouldn’t hurt if you stood like that in it,” he grinned. I made a mental note.

To reward both of us for being so darn cute with each other, I went and bought every color they had. Now I have 4 of them and I am quite often finding myself standing like that just to feel sassy. Phil is pretty happy, too.

Phil’s Photos

I have posted about Phil and his new Wonder-Camera before. But now I have proof. Over the weekend, he took some great photos of the kids and I. I will fully admit that I got a little teary when I saw these. I don’t think I have good photos of Vivienne and I yet. So this was quite a treat.

I suggest you pop on over to Phil’s Flickr! account and bookmark it to see his photos on a regular basis. Not only are there gratuitous shots of my cleavage (ugh, boys), but there are beautiful art photos (which I make fun of him for, but they are very pretty) and others of the family and stuffs.

Just Another Day *Updated*

Phil called me at midnight Sunday to tell me that his friend, who he had been hanging out with, had just been shot. Just to clarify, this isn’t an everyday occurance for either Phil or this friend. We are both a little freaked out, very sleepy (as Phil didn’t get home until almost 3am) and concerned for the friend and the friend’s child.

Both friend and child are ok. Friend is still in the hospital recovering but doing well. It saddens both Phil and I that someone who was just trying to help a neighbor ended up taking a bullet for his good deed, but I am more impressed that this person was so quick to disregard his own safety to help someone in need. Lord only knows what might have happened to the woman who was being mugged if he hadn’t startled them. Still, we are all thankful this was as bad as it got.

If anyone knows something in regard to this crime, please contact the authorities. *Updated on the website with photo of suspect*

One Year Ago

image image

One year ago this week Phil and I were jaunting around the London and Amsterdam pretending we had much more money than we do. It is unreal that it has been a year and both of us have commented on it at least once in the past few days. Phil commented “It has been one year and what have we done?” Um, sweetie, we created a life. Does that count?

Although time is flying by, I still can feel it slowing a little here and there. It does seem like yesterday that we were on the trip. However, didn’t I have a baby forever ago? Pregnancy is just a blip and the birth feels like it was a few seconds long and forever ago.

It is always fun now to watch television and movies and get to shout out “I have been there!” when they show Big Ben or tulip fields. Feel free to peruse the photos and reminisce along with us!
