Oct 2004

I am cleaning out old emails and just came across one from October 2004. A guy had purchased a book from me off Amazon. He was intrigued by the screen name and was just being friendly, asking what other books I would recommend. The book he purchased was “How to Make Love Like a Porn Star” by Jenna Jameson, which is why this is all so funny. Anyway, this is more for me to remember the things that I liked to read and less for you to actually learn something from.

Devo

I took Phil to see DEVO at the 930 Club in DC on Sunday. Although I am not a huge fan, I appreciate the kooky arty thing that they did so long ago. It was like being at a concert with 2500 people who ‘got’ the joke while you just nodded and smiled. Phil was goofy excited, which was good enough for me.

I will fully admit being nervous and concerned the whole time, for the safety of these men on stage. After all, Mark Mothersbaugh is 59!!! Add to that the fact that most recently he is the dude from Yo Gabba Gabba that does drawings that make my kids laugh and you will realize that my entire night was kind of surreal.

Sesame Street

image

This is Sesame Street’s 40th Anniversary. How do I love this show? Both of my kids have been forced to watch since they were able to focus on the TV screen.

In fact, Tuesday night Henry serenaded us all with “C is for Cookie” for a good hour after his bedtime, from the baby monitor.
